Bixby Re-Opening Charley Young Park April 29
Spring-time fun in the park awaits Bixby children when the city celebrates the re-opening of Charley Young Park on April 29.
The renovated park was dedicated to Charley Young in 1972, a leader in the park renovation prior to his death, according to Bixby Metro Chamber officials.
“Construction to renovate the park began in July 2016,” said Krystal Crockett of the Bixby Metro Chamber. “The park will welcome visitors with a playground, picnic areas, lighted water fountain and a covered stage.”
The celebration, from 11a.m. until 4 p.m., includes a press conference at 11, ribbon cutting at 11:20 with the park officially opening at 11:30.
The day’s festivities also include music with a DJ, an inflatable bounce house and food trucks.
The event is free and open to the public. For additional information, please contact the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce at 918.366.9445.
